Conrad Murray faces involuntary manslaughter charges

(Newser) – The doctor implicated in Michael Jackson’s death will surrender tomorrow in Los Angeles, where he faces involuntary manslaughter charges last June. Conrad Murray, 56, met with his legal team today, sources tell TMZ; the Los Angeles County District Attorney will file charges in the morning, and Murray will then turn himself in.

It's about time this scumbag has charges filed against him. I hope they take his liscense away from him forever. He was definitely negligent. He was more interested in the money. I hope now he really pays.

Michael Jackson's doctor gets 4 years

(NEWSER) - Dr. Conrad Murray was hit with the maximum sentence of four years' imprisonment today for his role in the death of Michael Jackson. Murray, who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter , will serve his time in county jail rather than prison because he is a non-violent felon, TMZ reports. It is also likely he will serve just half of his sentence. The judge ordered Murray to pay restitution to Jackson's family, but the amount will be decided at a later date; he was also ordered to pay $870 in fines and fees. More»

(NEWSER) - A photo of Michael Jackson's body was shown to jurors in the Conrad Murray trial yesterday as a coroner described the autopsy and his decision to rule the death a homicide. Jackson's body appears emaciated in the photo, but Los Angeles Deputy Medical Examiner Christopher Rogers said he found Jackson to be "healthier than the average person of his age," with clear arteries and no sign of heart disease, reports the New York Daily News . (NEWSER) - From Dr. Conrad Murray’s trial for the involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson, more sad details about the King of Pop’s last days. Kenny Ortega, the choreographer for Jackson’s “This Is It” tour, testified yesterday that he confronted Murray just days before Jackson’s death, airing his concerns that the star was incoherent and couldn’t rehearse.
