With reports of a 150-person layoff at her network on Monday and just about a year left on her contract, Katie Couric's future is uncertain. Her bosses at CBS have given no indication whether they plan to keep her, but even if they do, "I would be flabbergasted if she didn’t take a pay cut," a source tells the New York Post.

CBS News higher-ups don't like the idea of continuing to pay Couric $15 million a year for an evening news broadcast that remains in third place, the same position it was in when she took over in 2006. Might she, as rumored, move into a daytime hosting slot? In fact, her contract with CBS expires the same month that Oprah Winfrey plans to pull the plug on her show. "I don't see it," the source says, imagining her as a better fit for Larry King's CNN gig.
