Worst Movies of All Time

Even George Clooney can't save 1997's Batman and Robin.

(Newser) – So he's up for a best actor Oscar and his movie Up in the Air has gotten tons of buzz. That doesn't mean George Clooney's beyond the occasional flop. His 1997 "franchise-killing" flick Batman and Robin, with Chris O'Donnell and Alicia Silverstone, was picked by Empire magazine readers as the worst movie ever made, Reuters reports. Others in the top—or bottom—10:

  • Battlefield Earth (2000) with John Travolta "as a dreadlocked, 9-foot-tall alien."

  • The Love Guru (2008) with Mike Myers. "This starts with an unoriginal character and borderline racist and sexist humor before heading straight for the toilet," Empire writes.
  • The "lazy collection of re-creations of scenes from blockbuster movies" that was Epic Movie (2007).
  • 2008's The Happening with Mark Wahlberg and Zooey Deschanel. Potentially decent cast, but the performances "felt forced and flat."
If you dare, check out the rest of the Empire top 50 here.

I just watched spiderman 2 last night with the rifftrax. that's the only way i can choke it down. it's really more of a remake of the first movie than a sequel.

i liked it. it was a kids movie without a doubt, but the subtle normality of the film mixed with the lighthearted comedy had me enjoying it.
