(Newser) – A kite-surfer died yesterday after being bitten by sharks in the waters off a southern Florida beach. A lifeguard swam out to find Stephen Schafer, 38, bleeding profusely from multiple wounds with a group of sharks in the area. The guard got him to shore, but he died at a hospital later, CNN reports. While shark attacks are on the decline worldwide, Florida had 32 of the 41 reported attacks in the US in 2008. Most victims are surfers.
