Now they're mad: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie said through their lawyer today that they're not splitting up, and they're suing the British tabloid News of the World for starting the avalanche of rumors that they are. "We can confirm unequivocally ... that the allegations published by the News of the World are false as well as intrusive," they said in a statement.

The paper declined to retract allegations published on Jan. 24 that Brangelina had agreed to separate, would divide $320 million in assets, and had made custody arrangements for their six children, the AP reports. A high-profile LA divorce lawyer they were said to have consulted, Sorrell Trope, also denied that she had any contact with the couple.
