Cougars Get Pregnancy Warning

Ad campaign warns women they can be fertile into their '50s

(Newser) – A stubbornly high rate of unplanned and unwanted pregnancies among women over 35 has forced British authorities to launch a campaign to remind women of a certain age that unprotected sex can cause pregnancy. Officials behind the "Conceivable?" campaign say that warnings on fertility waning with age have led too many women to wrongly assume that they're too old to get pregnant.

The head of Britain's Family Planning Association warns that women should realize that a single night of unprotected sex in one's late '30s, '40s, or even '50s can lead to pregnancy. "Our helpline receives calls from such women, shocked this has happened to them," she tells the BBC. "They thought their age would protect them from becoming pregnant."

Whilst the message about fertility declining with age is an important one, it is often overplayed, alongside disproportionate messaging about unplanned teenage pregnancies. - Julie Bentley, chief executive of Britain's Family Planning Association

...Of COURSE it's a quote, you ignorant fuck. That would be the point. And it's The Holy Grail; you can't be bothered to research even the rudiments of your pathetic insults. Unbelievable.
