(Newser) – The best places to retire aren't all what you'd expect. U.S. News assembles a list of 1,000 top choices and zeroes in on 10 to get you started. In alphabetical order, they are:

  1. Bozeman, Mont.
  2. Concord, NH
  3. Fayetteville, Ark.

  1. Hillsboro, Ore.
  2. Lawrence, Kan.
  3. Peachtree City, Ga.
  4. Prescott, Ariz.
  5. San Francisco
  6. Smyrna, Tenn.
  7. Venice, Fla.
