(Newser) – The woman whose father crashed his plane into a Texas IRS office in a suicide statement about big government backed away this afternoon from her characterization earlier in the day of Joe Stack as a “hero.” Samantha Bell, 38, called ABC to say that, in fact, Stack is “not a hero,” and that it was Vernon Hunter, killed in the crash, who was. “I don’t want to hurt anybody,” Bell said. “We are mourning for Vernon Hunter.”

I guess everyone is choosing to overlook this man's mental state, and what drove him to do this. It's terrible that he had to take someone's life along with his, but you can only poke some people in the chest so many times before they take a swing at you.

The IRS is a legal mafia, and I can only speculate about what they might've done to this man, but I don't doubt that it was akin to something you'd see in Goodfellas if it drove him to this. Maybe instead of just burying the two deceased, and this matter along with it, it's time for people to step up and deal with the real cause of this tragedy.

CUT him some slack my behind. THIS NUT BURNED DOWN HIS HOUSE AND ALMOST KILED FAMILY AND YET HE DID KILL AN INNOCENT MAN, AND SHE CALLED HIM A HERO. NOW SHE BACK PEDALS ON HER COMMENT. TYPICAL BS

The girl has suffered a great tragedy. Cut her some slack. Was the man a terrorist? Absolutely. But his family isn't and the girl said something she shouldn't have after she discovered what had happened to her father at his own hand. You just get slack for that.
