In the wake of Andrew Koenig’s disappearance, friends and family are recalling warning signs the Growing Pains actor gave. One filmmaker tells the New York Daily News Koenig refused two editing gigs and returned a few personal items to his doorstep before leaving for Vancouver. “He was kind of fed up with the Hollywood business,” Lance Miccio says. “He may have just said enough is enough and gone off into the wild. He was a nature boy.”

Meanwhile, dad Walter (also known as Pavel Chekov from the original Star Trek) posted a message on his website recalling a “despondent” letter he received from Andrew on Feb. 16. Vancouver police are following up on many tips and reported sightings, reports TMZ, which adds that they are searching “for a living person.” Click here to see which of his Growing Pains colleagues is offering to help.
