(Newser) – Fox's Family Guy is keeping the Federal Communications Commission busier than any other program on TV, according to records released under the Freedom of Information Act. A single episode of the show in March 2009 with a plot line involving horse semen triggered nearly 200,000 complaints to the section of the agency that handles indecency complaints.

Gripe numbers that high suggest that an advocacy group—probably the Parents Television Council—encouraged members to take part in a mass mailing, the Los Angeles Times notes. Fox programs, including an NFL game in which the cameras panned the crowd and showed a fan wearing a T-shirt with an obscene slogan, account for nearly half the agency's 1.45 million pending complaints.
