A pair of Cape Cod newlyweds spent their first night as husband and wife in separate jail cells, after allegedly attempting to run over the groom’s ex-girlfriend and her son. Police say they found the couple and their would-be victims in a restaurant parking lot. The couple was drunk, saying they’d split a bottle of champagne after the wedding. Later, as they were driving through the lot, they spotted the woman.

According to the woman, the pair first drove by yelling sexually-charged insults at her, then ran the car straight at her, so that she had to jump out of the way. They then threw it in reverse, and smashed its back end into a fence. The bride, Marissa Putignano-Keene, 22, was driving, and has been charged, among other things, with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (the car). The husband, Timothy Keene, 37, was charged with disorderly conduct. Keene is a registered sex offender. (More wedding stories.)
