So this is rich: Instead of Naomi Campbell apologizing for punching and slapping a New York cabbie Tuesday, it's the cab driver who has apologized. "This whole thing has been blown out of proportion and I apologize to Ms. Campbell for causing that to happen," driver Miodrag Mejdina said yesterday. Mejdina told the AP he “got angry and overreacted” by contacting the cops. In response, Campbell—known for her past scrapes with a housekeeper and London police officers—issued her own rather elliptical statement, Us reports.

“I have worked very hard on correcting my previous wrongdoings and I will not be held hostage to my past,” she says. “I try to treat everyone with respect and I am pleased the driver has apologized. I would like to put the last few days behind me and move on.” Note that neither denied the punching and slapping.
