(Newser) – Machete-wielding rioters hacked at least 200 people to death yesterday in the latest wave of religious violence in Nigeria. Nearly all of the victims were Christians in the attacks on 3 villages, where rioters were out for revenge for earlier killings of Muslims in Jos. The dead lined the streets in the towns south of Jos and authorities planned mass burials today. Hundreds of area residents have fled to escape the violence.
