Roman Polanski's wife says his imprisonment and house arrest has crushed her spirit and terrified the couple's two children. "I am no longer such a carefree person," Emmanuelle Seigner told Polish magazine Viva. "I am no longer the same Emmanuelle." Seigner and the children no longer live in the Swiss chalet where the director is under house arrest, but they visit often.

The French actress and singer said she believes "the matter will be solved" but declined to comment on details, the Los Angeles Times reports. Swiss extradition proceedings in Polanski's child sexual abuse case are on hold until courts in California rule on whether he can be sentenced without returning to the US, raising the possibility that the case may not be resolved for months or even years.
