Bronx Buddies Face Prison for Hitting Cop With Snowball
An illegal weapon?   (Shutter Stock)

Throw a snowball around the wrong cop and you could be facing a year in jail. That's the message heard by four guys from the Bronx, who are suing New York City for $10 million after an off-duty policeman wandered into the fray of their snowball fight and caught one in the leg. He pulled out a gun, called for backup, and charged them with criminal possession of a weapon.

"When I was in Central Booking, people asked me what I was locked up for, and I said a snowball," one of the four, Jonathan Ramirez, 22, told the New York Daily News. "Everyone started laughing." The NYPD claims the cop was pummeled with snowballs and the defendants threatened in Spanish to jump him—a language that three of the four, however, say they can't speak.
