Elinor Burkett, aka the Oscars’ “Lady Kanye,” told Joy Behar her side of the story last night. Burkett was irked knowing Roger Ross Williams would talk more about himself than the subject of their documentary, she says. “Either I could let him blather on, or I could interrupt so I get to talk,” she continues. “Everybody thinks I was bad for interrupting him, so they don’t think he was bad for, like, bigfooting me to prevent me from speaking at all.”

She goes on to admit that, since she lives in Zimbabwe, the Kanye West references were lost on her. But “now I know, and it’s just a little weird because Kanye West didn’t get the Oscar. I mean, that was the point,” she says. “Maybe I’m just, like, a middle-aged crazy person. Could be. But I think, okay, you get up, then you wait for me to get up, we go up together, graciously.” Watch the highlights above, or for more clips, click here.
