Sex scandals in the Catholic Church are continuing proof that the devil has infiltrated the Vatican, the Holy See's chief exorcist has revealed. Satanic manipulations have triggered Vatican power struggles and resulted in "cardinals who do not believe in Jesus, and bishops who are linked to the Demon," declared Father Gabriele Amorth, 85. "When one speaks of 'the smoke of Satan' in the holy rooms, it is all true—including these latest stories of violence and pedophilia."

Amorth also linked the mysterious death of a Vatican guard in 1998 and the attempted murder of of Pope John Paul II as evidence of Satan's work. Amorth has been the Vatican's top demon fighter for 25 years and boasts some 70,000 exorcisms, reports the Times of London. Another exorcist said that Amorth had "gone well beyond the evidence" in linking Satan to the the Vatican. Amorth, who believes Adolf Hitler was possessed, said he has seen people spit nails, glass and rose petals during exorcisms.
