(Newser) – Since getting the boot from NBC, Conan O’Brien keeps getting more popular—and soon he might be a movie star. His upcoming Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television Tour may get its own documentary—apparently, O’Brien is not legally prohibited from being funny on the big screen. Deadline reports that a financier and director Rodman Flender have been in talks about coming aboard.

It is amazing to me that Conan keeps getting such good press. Also, "keeps getting more popular" is pretty subjective.

I don't really have anything against the guy, but for someone who did so poorly in the ratings, he sure has a lot of folks talking about how great he is and making excuses for his failure.

That route worked well for Steve Martin, why not for you as well, Cuckoo? Cocoa?
