Jeffrey Dahmer was in South Florida in 1981, when Adam Walsh was abducted.   (LovingSerialKillers)

(Newser) – In 2008, police in Hollywood, Fla., announced they had confirmed the identity of the man who abducted and murdered Adam Walsh: Otis Toole, a longtime suspect in the 1981 crime who had died in 1996. But a Miami Herald investigation suggests a link between the disappearance of the 6-year-old—whose father, John Walsh, became a victims' rights advocate and host of America's Most Wanted after his son's murder—and a much higher-profile criminal: Jeffrey Dahmer.

Some witnesses say investigators dismissed accounts of the crime that didn't implicate Toole. Another says she has tried in vain to tell Hollywood police she believes she saw Dahmer and Adam at Sears, where Adam was last seen, the day the boy disappeared. Others say they recognized Dahmer immediately when his cannibalistic killing spree came to light in 1991. And records show police spent 2 weeks looking into the possible connection—in 2002. "This investigation has not established any link," the officer concluded.

surviving a homiside attack from a group I can say referances to this person after there failure to kill me tells me that the plauseabilty of this damer and other person possibily more would have revolved around a single person like that child the way these people have around me. I did not know damer had commited canabilistic acts. i hpoe this subject along with herion and other hard drug aggressive orginzations that are informal but miniacal and very persuasive I lost a girlfriend to a herion group and forchunate for her I think my support while we where together helped her see why she sould not contunie with that that I did not know because part my love for her was the loss of relation because of her bfriending that group. knowing she would remember later and leave that group on her own because she makes all her choices herself. as do I
