(Newser) – Barack Obama’s opponents should know that he is an adaptable foe. “I can go to my right,” the lefthanded Obama said while shooting hoops with Harry Smith on CBS’ Early Show, “but I prefer my left.” Obama admitted his basketball form isn’t perfect these days—“You know, I’ve got a few other things on my mind”—but said he could still get it done in the clutch. “It’s like health care. I always come from behind—I finish strong.”

Smith also asked if Obama knew he was being called everything from a “socialist” to a “Nazi” on right-wing talk radio. Obama replied: “Well, I think that when you listen to Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck, it's pretty apparent, and it's troublesome, but keep in mind that there have been periods of American history where this kind of vitriol comes out. It happens often when you’ve got an economy that is making people more anxious. … But that’s not the vast majority of Americans.”
