(Newser) – Sandra Bullock is terrified that Jesse James will try to kill her and then commit suicide, but she’s still filled out a divorce petition and will file it “any second,” writes Ian Halperin. The complaint alleges “physical and mental abuse,” sources say, and includes a request for a restraining order against James. Bullock “has barely slept the past couple of weeks” and is under 24-hour protection.

As to the alleged sex tape, which Halperin scooped on Ian Undercover: He writes that his post inspired the Bullock camp to toss the couple’s home, turning up “revealing photos” but not the tape, which insiders surmise “an armed guard” is watching “round the clock” should James want to release it after the divorce papers are filed. But don’t get close to Bullock, a source says. “Her security team will do whatever is necessary to take Jesse out if he tries to get within a block of her. They’re not playing around.”

Empathy--it is a weird thing--you either get it from a horrible childhood where you never mattered as a human and were simply an object that your parents cathected as they would the car--or, you had brilliant parents who took you everywhere and tried to show you everything and treated you as a totally separate person. Everything between those extremes tends to produce people who have no ability to step into someone's shoes and take a few steps. We are in a huge period of no empathy right now because children for the last thirty years just became an extension of their parents and were admired for their soccer ability. So, no empathy but lots of artificial self-esteem. A stupid word that was invented by a follower of Ayn Rand--he was best friends with Greenspan--I learned all that while I was ignored by my parents. Anyway, if you had some empathy you would understand why a perfectionist such as Bullock would enter a tailspin after her mother died and find love in the worst person for her. She and Tiger Woods wear the same hat: they played it differently but they started at the same screwed up point. Cathect your children--they will marry men with tattoos or get lost in sex with porn stars. The problem with free will--is that it is an illusion. We are all the sum of genetics and a bit of nurture.
