6-Year-Old Kills Herself After Being Sent to Room

She's the youngest person to commit suicide in Oregon

(Newser) – Oregon’s medical examiner has concluded that 6-year-old Samantha Kuberski intentionally committed suicide, making her the youngest person ever to kill herself in the state. The first-grader hanged herself in December with a belt from an unused crib, after being sent to her room for arguing with her mother, AOL News reports. But local police are still investigating, unconvinced that the girl understood what she was doing.

“The disagreement is a little more philosophical than it is material,” a police captain explained. “It's not that we disagree with the mechanics of what happened.” The state’s medical examiner made the ruling after hearing that the girl had said she had threatened to kill herself when sent to her room, and had recently been warned not to play with a belt around her neck.

I wish they would have said more about this little girls past, it would have a lot to with it. For instance, when I was 4 I was molested by an uncle, and forced to forgive him, hug him, and pretend like nothing happened. When you feel low even as a child, you have an understanding of only having one life, and wish to leave the people that hurt you or make you feel inferior. Someone needs to investigate this futher, which I'm sure someone is doing.

i believe it i tried to commit suicide when i was 2 years old by drowning myself but my mom came in and saw me so she pulled me out and made me get out and said never to do that again she thought i didn't know better but i knew i only had one life and people would say i'm chubby a lot and make fun of me because they could see my underwear rise up behind me when i sat.. :(

When I was in 1st grade I tried to kill myself because I kept getting in trouble at school and Id be sent to my room for an hour or so, I was also in karate which i hated at the time but my mom insisted.

When I was sent to my room I would try smoother myself with the pillow face down for almost minutes at a time which is a long time for a little kid. I couldnt do it however my instincts wouldnt let me physically do it. I wouldnt have died anyway but I had true intentions of suicide. Imagine if I had a closet and a belt haha.
