Facebook to Jump to Real-World Bookshelves

Posted Oct 1, 07 4:26 PM CDT in Business Technology Arts & Living

(Newser) – The kudzu of the internet will spread beyond the virtual world to bookstore shelves next year with the publication of The Facebook Book, a satirical look at the social-networking phenomenon. The authors, both recent Harvard grads, say they plan a "fictional and fanciful" take on Harvard dropout Mark Zuckerberg's brainchild, the Crimson reports.

The humorous volume will dissect the site, categorize its users, and pass along anecdotes and urban legends. The New York Observer reports that Harry N. Abrams will publish the book, for which it paid "in the range" of $50,000—approximately half of 1% of Facebook's value, or about a year's worth of Harvard tuition and fees.
