Paltrow, Pals Start Foodie Tour of Spain

Posted Oct 3, 07 1:33 PM CDT in World US Arts & Living

(Newser) – While one usually associates road-trip cuisine with a 7-Eleven, two foodies and two actresses today embark on a four-month culinary tour of Spain. Gwyneth Paltrow, chef Mario Batali, New York Times food columnist Mark Bittman, and Spanish actress Claudia Bassols will sample traditional cuisine for a 13-part PBS series called "Spain ... on the road again" due next fall.

Tiny cameras in flashy cars will capture how the celebs pass their travel time, and more cameras will follow them into restaurants, shops, and museums, reports AP. "I don't know what we are going to do, but it is going to be fun," said Paltrow in Spanish. Batali and Bittman agreed they'll be looking for traditional, rather than fancy, Spanish dishes.
