Iowa Hot Over Erotic Corn Dogs

Corn dogs are heating up the Iowa State Fair. Worried that it's "kind of disgusting," the fair board is considering nixing a local radio station's annual erotic corn dog-eating contest, in which women contestants are given 30 seconds to, well, perform. "We stress technique," DJ Steve Pilchen tells the Des Moines Register. "There's a lot of simulation."

Pilchen admits the contest is "completely sexist and inappropriate," and wasn't surprised when the board expressed doubts. Nevertheless, he says, the event's popularity has swelled in the past four years because "it’s on the level and there’s some visual candy." Oh, and condiments? “We had ketchup and mustard, but the big hit was mayonnaise.” (More Iowa stories.)
