(Newser) – The woman who deprived Sarah Palin of the Miss Alaska title (she had to settle for Miss Congeniality) is entering the political arena. Maryline Blackburn, now a resident of Georgia and a singer and actress to boot, is mounting a bid for the state House of Representatives, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Blackburn bested Palin in 1984, becoming the first African-American to snag the title. She's a Democrat, and, yes, she voted for Obama.

Can you imagine the absolute rage of The Palm Reader to be beaten by a beautiful black woman in Alaska? I am sure she has never recovered. She was probably racist before it happened and went on as governor to refuse to hire blacks or native Alaskans. She probably has transferred her rage to President Obama.

She is such a low class loser. I bet this woman would kick her pathetic ass in a debate. What a wonderful turn of events. RIGHT ON!

Will she endeavor to be a real politician or follow in the Queen of the Quiters footsteps and make $12M giving hate speeches to right wing radicals and gun toting rednecks?

I guess in a way it sort of fits. If you can be a phony in a beauty contest you probably have what it takes to be a phony in government.

Good luck to her, I hope she wins, but this story is hype. She's not running AGAINST Palin.
