Daily Show Jokesters Penned Obama Quips

No wonder he was so funny

(Newser) – No wonder President Obama got all the laughs at the White House Correspondent's Dinner over the weekend: his quips were written by Daily Show jokesters. Obama easily out-quipped Jay Leno with the funniest presidential material in two decades of the event, gushed Lloyd Grove in the Daily Beast, who was told by White House adviser David Axelrod that the jokes came from Jon Stewart's comedy henchmen. To top it off, Obama—a "natural entertainer"—had a year to improve his delivery and timing, says Grove.

What was Obama's best material? Grove can't decide. But among his favorites was Obama's joke about disgraced ex-Rep. Eric Massa, who the president quipped "claimed that Rahm came up to him one day in the House locker room, stark naked, started screaming obscenities at him. To which I say, welcome to my world.”

Well Well Well . The President missed his calling. The country needs a good president not a stand-up comedian. We may need some good comedians too but somebody has got to be our president.

A joke is only as good as its delivery. The POTUS has good comedic timing.
