The channel has shifted to the west between Beaufort Inlet Channel lighted buoys 11 and 12, and Morehead City Channel lighted buoys 18 and 19. The two new buoys added are Beaufort Inlet Channel lighted buoy 14A and Beaufort Inlet Channel lighted buoy 13. How absolutely cool! I used to live on that water a few miles south of Beaufort 14 A. People don't realize how busy that is. High tide it was fifteen yards from my bed. How I learned to stop working in bed and make an office--I'd stare at barges all day long. You can google earth it--52 Brams Point Road. I was the second to the last dock on the right depending if you're looking at the inner coastal or the bay. White pilings. They were white plumbing pipes--can you image that some guy had the foresight to do that in the 60's? The three hundred foot dock never rotted and how it is still grandfathered in at four feet wide. I moved cause I got tired of the dolphins and now I gotta listen to the whales--they are no picnic either. Many good memories--thank you.
