Clabon Terel Berniard, 23, was the last of the four suspects to be arrested.   (Pierce County Sheriff's Office)

A Seattle-area man was murdered in front of his family after putting a diamond ring up for sale on Craigslist. A gang of 3 men and a woman forced their way into Jim Sanders' home after he answered the door to them, hoping to sell the diamond. They tied up Sanders, his wife, and their two sons. He was shot after he broke loose to try and stop the pistol-whipping of his 14-year-old son, ABC News reports. Four suspects have been charged with first-degree murder.

My husband was a hero," said Sanders' widow. "He always told the boys that he'd always protect his family, and he died protecting his family." Security experts say the horrific crime underlines the fact that people need to take steps to stay safe when making transactions through sites like Craiglist. They recommend that exchanges always be made in a public place and advise sellers never to let potential buyers into their homes.
