Convent Drug Ring Busted
The nuns were completely oblivious to the drug trafficking operation and were shocked by the janitor's arrest, police say.   (Shutter Stock)

Italian police have smashed a huge cocaine ring that used a Milan-area convent as a cover. The convent's South American janitor collected cocaine hidden in prayer books from drug smugglers posing as pilgrims, the BBC reports. The janitor was among 33 people busted. Mafia and Colombian cartels were behind the operation, and the nuns appear to have had no idea what was going on, according to authorities.
