(AP) – As calls spread for an economic boycott of Arizona, embattled Gov. Jan Brewer enlisted the help of none other than Sarah Palin yesterday to defend its controversial immigration crackdown. Brewer and Palin blamed President Obama for the state law, saying the measure is Arizona's attempt to enforce immigration laws because the federal government won't do it.

"It's time for Americans across this great country to stand up and say, 'We're all Arizonans now,'" Palin said. "And in clear unison we say, 'Mr. President: Do your job. Secure our border.'" The event launched a website that Brewer said was an effort to educate America about border security and discourage an economic boycott of the state.

I think for most American people the reaction to this would be, 'Why haven't the police already been doing that?' - Sarah Palin, on Arizona's new law requiring cops to inquire about immigration status

Our purpose today is to help the rest of the nation understand the crisis which confronts our state.

I doubt that Palin will achieve any sort of elected public office. She may but unlikely. A lot of what she says is common sense, populist in nature, and generally benign.

Her true value lies in the effect she has on Liberals. It's like in the old "Scanners" movie.

I'm not an Arizonan. The state and it's dumb law are and embarrassment, and so is Sarah Palin. The woman is just plain stupid, and anyone who thinks otherwise should be openly mocked. I'm talking to you DLY. We don't like you either. Mrs. K? You would do the world a great justice if you would just keel over dead, or at the very least, shut your vitreous pie hole, and leave the politics to the grown ups.

She'll do anything for money. They have a name for that and it isn't pretty.
