US Coast Guard searching for missing boater near Savannah, GA

(User Submitted) – The US Coast Guard, Georgia Dept of Natural Resources and Chatham County Marine Rescue are searching for a missing boater who fell overboard while pulling into the Isle of Hope Marina located on the Intracoastal Waterway Sunday. Missing is Derrel Williams, 23, hometown unknown. The Coast Guard was notified at approximately 8:18 p.m. Sunday that a 23-year-old male fell overboard from a fishing boat attempting to tie up at the Isle of Hope Marina. A USCG Air Station Savannah HH-65 Dolphin rescue helicopter crew, a USCG Station Tybee Island 25-foot rescue boat crew, Georgia Department of Natural Resources and the Chatham County Marine Rescue are searching.
