Indonesia will have a special present for President Obama when he visits in June: a movie about his years living in Jakarta. Little Obama tells the story of the president's life from ages 6 to 10, when he lived there with his mother and Indonesian stepfather. "It's about his friendships, his hobbies, just a childhood story," the screenwriter tells the AP. "It's not about politics, it's just the story of a boy."
To play Obama, the producers tapped 12-year-old Hasan Faruq Ali, an American who has lived in Indonesia since he was 2. "It feels great to play Obama," the novice actor said with a grin. "I was shy about it at first and there are some new difficulties that you have to work to get over," Ali said. "But then it became easy and fun, especially acting as a very important character who left here to become president."
