Preventing heart disease is about more than fad diets; it's about creating long-term change and sticking with it. Forbes gives you the no-nonsense guide to heart health:

  1. Balance calorie intake and activity.
  2. Eat fruits and veggies.
  3. Make sure at least half your carbs come from whole grains and high-fiber foods.

  1. Fill up on fish.
  2. Limit fats.
  3. Cut back on sugar.
  4. Cut the salt.
  5. Limit drinks to two a day for men, one a day for women.
  6. Don't overeat when dining out.
