Ari Fleischer: Fire Helen Thomas

Helen Thomas continues to draw serious heat for a YouTube interview (see it in the gallery) in which she tells Israelis to "get the hell out of Palestine" and go back to where they came from. Former Bush press chief Ari Fleischer has joined the chorus, calling for Thomas to be fired as a White House correspondent, reports Sam Stein of the Huffington Post.

Thomas has issued a statement of apology on her website for the interview, which was conducted by RabbiLive.com and quickly became a sensation on conservative websites. Says Fleischer: "She should lose her job over this. As someone who is Jewish, and as someone who worked with her and used to like her, I find this appalling." (More Helen Thomas stories.)
