Joran Van der Sloot's lawyer is dropping the highly charged case because he was targeted by death threats. "I've received threats, many threatening e-mails. I'm an older person. This isn't for me," Maximo Altez, 54, told AP. Altez will continue representing Van der Sloot only until the accused murderer's family members arrive in Peru within the next few days.
