Police near Philadelphia raided the home of a 14-year-old boy and seized an arsenal of weapons—including an assault rifle and homemade grenades, along with 30 air-powered guns—the boy apparently wanted to use in a Columbine-style attack. The home-schooled teen said he felt bullied and tried to recruit another boy to help him attack a nearby high school, the AP reported.
The would-be accomplice then alerted authorities. "I'm not certain an attack was going to occur at all," said the local DA. "It could have simply been big talking." The arsenal—in plain view in the teen's bedroom, was accompanied by a bomb-making book and a video of the 1999 Columbine attack. The boy's parents are under investigation for buying him the assault rifle. The youth is in custody and due to appear in court tomorrow morning.
