FDA warns Magic Coffee has Viagra type ingredient

The FDA is warning that Magic Power Coffee, an instant-coffee product peddled on the Internet as a sexual enhancer, has a little more than magic in its list of ingredients. Tests showed it contains an undeclared chemical (hydroxythiohomosildenafil) that is similar to the active ingredient in Viagra (sildenafil). When mixed with other medicines, the effects can be deadly.

The FDA says Magic Power Coffee's active drug ingredient can dangerously lower blood pressure, and consumers should stop using it immediately. Sexual enhancement products that claim to work as well as prescription products are likely to expose consumers to unpredictable risks and the potential for injury or even death, the agency notes.
