Cops Raid Anna Nicole's Doctors

Posted Oct 12, 07 5:23 PM CDT in US Gossip Arts & Living

(Newser) – Police raided the homes and offices of two doctors who prescribed medication to Anna Nicole Smith today as part of an ongoing investigation into the circumstances of the heiress' death in Florida in February, the LA Times reports. California AG Jerry Brown said investigators had developed evidence of violations of the state's medical code and possible criminality.

"There is someone who is dead and her body is full of controlled substances," Brown said. "These were California doctors and California prescriptions. There were a lot of pills ... that's a fact." Smith's psychiatrist and a doctor who prescribed her methadone were targeted as part of an international investigation of the death of the former Playboy Playmate.
