Ears never lie, says Vietnamese acupuncturist

(Newser) – Men who have small red spots on the back of their ears are invariably virgins, according to celebrity Vietnamese acupuncturist Pham Thi Hong. Hong fought to free three convicted rapists from prison after she discovered that the men had the spots, the AP reports. Hong's determination to have the case reopened (she threatened to light herself on fire) caused prosecutors to do just that—the men were released after investigators found flaws in the initial case.

"They all had small red spots on the back of their ears," Hong says. "The spots should have disappeared if they had had sex. My many years of experience told me that these men did not have sex before." Gay sex or masturbation won't make the spots disappear, she says. Her alleged virgin-detecting abilities have been met with skepticism from fellow acupuncturists.

Just days after news broke that a sex assault accusation may have scuttled a Yale quarterback's chance at a Rhodes Scholarship comes word of a "joke" rape video aired on the University of Connecticut's student broadcast network. The "comedy sketch," part of UCTV's "Shenanigans" series, reveals a crying female—called a "stinky bitch"—who is "crying rape." The sketch ends with the character being strangled by her attacker. (NEWSER) - A Manhattan lawyer has reported to police that she was raped by the son of New York City Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly, reports the New York Daily News . The woman had drinks with Greg Kelly, 43, at the South Street Seaport last October, she told police. She then invited him to her lower Manhattan office, where she says he raped her. Greg Kelly's lawyer has denied the accusation. “Mr. Kelly strenuously denies any wrongdoing of any kind, and is cooperating fully with the district attorney’s investigation," he said. More»

FBI Finally Includes Men in Definition of Rape

(NEWSER) - The FBI is at long last changing its definition of rape to include males, after years of pressure from advocacy groups. For the past 85 years, the bureau has defined rape as "carnal knowledge of a female forcibly and against her will," a definition that would exclude, for example, several things Jerry Sandusky is accused of doing, USA Today points out.
