2 People Missing After Barge Hits Tour Boat

(AP) – A sightseeing "duck boat" carrying 37 people overturned today after being hit by a barge, spilling passengers into the Delaware River and leaving two people missing. The other 35 were pulled from the water by rescue boats. TV reports said nine people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Missing were a 16-year-old girl and a 20-year-old man. Before being struck by the barge, the duck boat apparently had stalled in the water after a fire broke out on board.

"I whirled around as the barge began to run over the duck boat," said a guard for the Delaware River Waterfront Corp. "After the barge hit it—it almost looked like slow motion—the duck boat began to turn over."
