D-Backs Can't Stop Streaking Rockies

Posted Oct 15, 07 2:40 AM CDT in Sports

(Newser) – The freight train that is the Rockies didn't lose any steam last night in Colorado, taking the third NLCS game 4-1 to put the Arizona Diamondbacks on the verge of extinction. Only one team has come back from a 3-0 deficit to win a championship series, but the Diamondbacks are determined to "defy history," Justin Upton told the Arizona Republic.

Livan Hernandez looked solid until Yorvit Torrealba's decisive three-run homer in the sixth inning, while Rockies righty Jeff Fogg induced Arizona double plays in the first three innings and repeatedly stymied Diamondbacks bats. The Rockies aren't celebrating yet, however: reliever Brian Fuentes reminded his team that "until we win the clinching game in the World Series, we are not done."
