A second, dark car may have been involved in the 1997 Paris car crash that killed Princess Diana and boyfriend Dodi Fayed, according to testimony at the inquest into the collision yesterday. Two witnesses who were walking outside the tunnel where the accident occurred also testified that they heard two crashes, the second louder than the first, reports CNN.

The sound of a racing engine caught one witness' attention, who remembered remarking "what an idiot." The coroner informed jurors at the start of the inquest that debris suggested Diana's car collided with a white Fiat Uno before it hit a pillar. That car has never been traced. Another witness testified yesterday that he saw a mysterious blinding flash of light in the tunnel before the crash. (More Diana inquest stories.)
