iPhone 4 'Fix': Free Cases!

Unapologetic Jobs says phones aren't perfect

(Newser) – Apple has a solution to what Steve Jobs calls “Antennagate.” No, it’s not going to recall the iPhone 4, but it is going to give each disgruntled user a free case! Jobs seemed just a wee bit unapologetic at a press conference today, kicking things off with a YouTube song that goes, “If you don’t like the iPhone 4, don’t buy it.” He admitted he phone drops more calls than the iPhone 3GS but says that represents, by Apple’s count, less than one additional call per hundred.

“We’re not perfect,” Jobs admitted, according to All Things Digital’s liveblog. But he noted other phones have similar issues. “This is life in the smartphone industry.” He said people were complaining only because they could see the “dead spot” on the outside of the phone. He added that not that many people were complaining, because only 0.55% of customers called Applecare about it. But just in case anyone is upset, Apple will provide a free case, or a refund for people who've already bought cases. Still not happy? Return the phone. Apple will waive the restocking fee.

I still remember when...... A phone was used to make a call A woman was something to be revered and loved Children were the object of love from the heart and always to be protected When you could drive downtown to go shopping and leave the door unlocked, upon your return home the kids on the block would wave and one or two might help you take in your groceries to which you repaid them with an ice creme or soft drink and the occasional candy bar. And people actually cared more about each other than some trivial consumer garbage that will be replaced or superseded within two years. I think we have lost our way and it shall not be recovered until we are on our knees with little left aside from other lost souls and we finally awaken to the fact that things can be replaced and are not that important and in the end only the ones you love are what really matter. Yes, I do remember the days when a phone was just a phone and not everyone even had one or even cared. Perhaps the phone that was to bring us all closer together was to blame when suddenly everyone had two or three but I think not. We seem to be adrift and not a soul seems intelligent enough to help find our way back to what really matters. I do remember when a phone was a phone and it really did not matter Undertaker

The free advertising for Apple's i-Phone continues as 3 million of them have been sold already. As Americans two-year contracts expire for their older i-Phones more millions will be purchased. Steve Jobs has bigger plans for the i-Phone's Internet capability as he already has started an online advertising service to compete with Google: http://www.flixya.com/post/brightlights/1989192/Apples_Plan_To_End_The_Free_Internet
