Minimum wage earner gives some of his kids' moms just $1.49 per month

(NEWSER) - Move over, Jon and Kate. Time to retire, Duggar family. Because Desmond Hatchett has you all beat—he has 30 children, courtesy of 11 different women. And as the 33-year-old Tennessee man earns just minimum wage, he's asking the courts to give him a break on his child support payments, reports Yahoo!'s Sideshow blog . But with so many children, some of his babymamas get as little as $1.49 per month, so the court doesn't have a ton of room to help him. After getting in legal trouble for not paying support in 2009, Hatchett, who then had 21 children, promised a court that he would stop having children. Conservative Richard Mourdock easily defeats him; Romney cruises

(NEWSER) - No miracles for Dick Lugar tonight: The six-term incumbent lost the GOP Senate primary in Indiana to Tea Party favorite Richard Mourdock, reports NBC News and CNN . The 80-year-old Lugar has been in the Senate since 1976, and he has ruled out running as an independent in November. He conceded about an hour after the polls closed. "I want to see a Republican in the White House," he said. "I want to see my friend Mitch McConnell have a Republican majority in the Senate. I hope that Richard Mourdock prevails in November so he can contribute to that Republican majority." More»

Manhunt continues for Adam Mayes, two teenage girls

(AP) - The net widened today in the case of a Mississippi man suspected of killing a Tennessee woman and her teenage daughter and fleeing with her two younger girls as authorities charged his wife and mother in connection with the abduction. As an intense manhunt for Adam Mayes and the two young girls continued, his wife, Teresa Mayes, and mother, Mary Mayes, were arraigned. Teresa Mayes, 30, was charged with especially aggravated kidnapping and Mary Mayes, 65, was charged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping. More»
