(Newser) – Former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto landed in Karachi today after 8 years in self-imposed exile. "I am thankful to God, I am very happy that I'm back in my country and I was dreaming of this day," a sobbing Bhutto told Reuters as she stepped off the flight from Dubai onto the heavily guarded tarmac.

Dressed in a green shalwar kameez, she was accompanied by 100 members of her party and greeted by a jubilant crowd of about 200,000 supporters, many wearing the party's red, black and green colors.  Bhutto's return follows negotiations for a power-sharing arrangement with President Pervez Musharraf that could involved her becoming PM again in a return to civilian government.
