50% of Women Would Pick 'No Sex' Over 'Gain 10 Lbs' Don't scoff: 25% of men feel the same way By Kate Seamons, Newser Staff Posted Aug 12, 2010 2:59 PM CDT 20 comments Comments 50% of women, and 25% of men, would pick losing 10 pounds over having to give up sex. (©sundaykofax) (Newser) – When it comes to women and their priorities, weight ranks higher than sex. About half the women surveyed in a recent Nutrisystem poll said they'd rather go without sex all summer than pack on 10 pounds. And it's not just the ladies who feel this way: 25% of men agreed. Other findings, as reported by USA Today: More respondents would rather lose 10 to 20 pounds over the summer than get promoted. Some 66% of people said they would need to lose weight to feel sexier than they do now. How much? An average of 23 pounds. Three-quarters of respondents would forgo something (using the computer, watching TV, etc.) in exchange for a flat stomach. But those surveyed had plenty of reasons for not dieting: about 50% want to keep eating the foods they love, 33% find dieting inconvenient, and 25% think it's stressful.
