Alvin M. Greene, the unemployed veteran who surprisingly won the Democratic Senate primary in South Carolina in June, was indicted Friday on two obscenity charges by a Richland County grand jury, according to the state solicitor’s office.
The charges stem from accusations last year by a student at the University of South Carolina that Mr. Greene showed her pornography and tried to accompany her to her dormitory room. The charges will almost certainly complicate Mr. Greene’s campaign against Senator Jim DeMint, the heavily favored Republican. Read the full article.
