(User Submitted) – The National Transportation Safety Board yesterday released photos from the site of the crash that killed former Alaska Sen. Ted Stevens and four others, as investigators spoke with two of the four survivors. According to the chair of the NTSB, they did not report hearing weird noises, nor did they feel the plane tilt backward or forward, notes the Anchorage Daily News. "They were flying along, and then they just stopped flying."

Though the plane was equipped with an system designed to alert pilots of dangerous terrain, it's not yet known if it was working. Read the full article.

Small planes flying into mountains....seems to be a popular way to die....isn't it how that republican webmaster died?

Found out: These otter planes are at least 43 years old (last built 1967). Much rebuilt and re-engined, but still: Parts of the plane were 43 yrs old. ------------- Still fascinated by the fact that lobbyists and ex-politicians and govt officials go fishing together. 'Fraid that smells fishy to me.

Two things: 1. So Ted Stevens, Alaskan pork king, was flying on a fishing trip with two "LOBBYISTS"???? - that speaks volumes to me. I hope some good journalist looks into this; ------ 2. "They were flying along, and then they just stopped flying." - Yep, they say flying doesn't kill you. It's the sudden stops that do you in;
