Former husband violates wife's protective order

(Newser) – A Facebook friend request turned into a Facebook friend arrest for one Florida man. Harry Bruder allegedly violated his ex-wife’s protective order against him when he sent her friend requests, landing him in jail Monday night. His ex probably didn’t want to friend him anyway after seeing a recent wall post calling her, according to My Fox Orlando, “a lying emotionally disturbed woman who needs help to handle previous abusive relationship.” (Click here to read about how Facebook is causing some divorces.)

Facebook is way too protective and overrated now. I tried adding someone earlier and now it looks like Facebook will only let you add people you personally know. They are real sticklers on who and how many people you can add to prevent "misuse" of the feature. Also I really don't care for all the distractions with applications, games and quizzes. Total control is the name of their game.

Joaquin Amador Serrapio pleads not guilty after house raid

(NEWSER) - Federal agents arrested a 20-year-old Florida man for allegedly threatening President Obama during a presidential fundraising trip to Miami last week, NBC Miami reports. Agents raided the home of Miami resident Joaquin Amador Serrapio on Thursday and took him into custody, where he pleaded not guilty to a federal magistrate. Serrapio's cash bond was set at $20,000 with an additional $50,000 surety bond signed by his parents. Authorities have not revealed the details of Serrapio's alleged threat. More»

US citizen from Yugoslavia suspected extremist

(NEWSER) - Federal agents have arrested a suspected Islamic extremist who allegedly planned to attack Tampa hotspots. Sami Osmakac, 25, a naturalized US citizen from the former Yugoslavia, allegedly plotted attacks using explosives and an assault rifle, the AP reports. Osmakac was reportedly caught buying weapons from an undercover agent; he's due in court today on a charge of attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction. More»

(NEWSER) - A South Carolina man has been arrested after he threatened to kill Gov. Nikki Haley on Facebook. Nathan Shafer, angered by the recent arrest of 19 Occupy Columbia protesters, commented on Haley’s Facebook post about the arrests, in which she said she “appreciate(s) freedom of speech,” KLTV reports. “I hope someone murders you before I do,” Shafer said he wrote. “How’s that for free speech?” More»

(NEWSER) - Talk about taking your job a little too seriously. A pair of Domino's Pizza managers in Lake City, Florida, have been charged with burning down a rival Papa John's Pizza franchise, the Ocala Star-Banner reports. Police arrested one manager, Sean Everett Davidson, 23, on Thursday, and say he confessed to the Oct. 20 arson attack. Cops nabbed Bryan David Sullivan, 22, a day later and charged him with arson.
